CE October 2015: Alien Fighter

My part for this month's creature exchange! Boy, did I have fun designing this badass lady. She's far out of my comfort zone but that helped me stay away from the tropes I usually use in my character designs. This one's for Faelyndra.

Little sidenote, after drawing all those 10p lined cheebs for OC October drawing with 2p lines again was a real adjustment :'D


1 - What parts of your prompt were written well and easy to understand? Was there anything the writer of the prompt could improve on or include next time they create a prompt?
Easy to understand and clearly written. One little point may be that there was little information in the prompt, so when I drew her I thought that the features that were suggested as examples were features the writer desired. Aside from that, fun and clear prompt!

2 - Please explain how you interpreted the prompt to create your design. Which features did you use? Did you stick to the chosen palette or make changes to it? Does the design you created have any special abilities or quirks?
The prompt asked for some half alien fighter girl who uses big weapons and bright colours. I decided to give her some alien features like fur in places, a tail, and strange colouration, but kept her body human enough for her to be a half alien. I mistook the 'cyclops' and '3 arms' as a required feature so I gave her that. Didn't know where to put a third arm, so I made it into one of those huge arms sprouting from a tail that can help her fight and move around more agile.

I also gave her bright colours, mostly pink and hot pink, because when I read that tight cloths were preferred the magical girl genre came to my head and I subconsciously drew her with that in mind. Somehow Me! Me! Me! came in there too? She's a swordswoman and also knows some sort of magic, which type is up to you. I chose for this because I thought giving her giant guns was a bit overdone and having an alien character that maybe is from a less technologically advanced time period could be really cool.
